A fine 19th century decorative model of a nymph in bronze, on a verde antico marble base.
Madrassi began his studies in Rome before travelling to Paris, where he became the pupil of Pierre-Jules Cavalier at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He then joined the studio of Carrier-Belleuse whose influence is evident in Madrassi’s lyrical style. He settled in France and took French nationality.
This bronze is typical of Madrassi’s oeuvre. The bronze is presented on a circular verde antico base with a bronze label to the front, Par Madrassi (Hors Concours).
